🔐 Daily Cryptogram
Crack the code, reveal the quotation — a fresh cryptogram every day.
A cryptogram hides a famous quotation behind a substitution cipher — every letter stands for another letter. DailyGrid's Cipher deals quotes from a deck of 1,823, so the daily quotation doesn't repeat for about five years. Early-week puzzles pre-reveal a hint letter or two; weekend puzzles leave you on your own.
How DailyGrid's Cryptogram works
- 🗓️ A fresh puzzle every day at midnight Eastern — and it never repeats: every puzzle is checked against everything we've published.
- 📈 Difficulty ramps with the week: 2 hint letters on easy days, 1 midweek, none on hard days.
- 💸 The daily puzzles are free. Always. No subscription, no account, no locked boards.
Tips
- Start with the one-letter word — in English it's almost always A or I.
- Hunt for THE. The most common three-letter pattern, especially at sentence starts.
- Use apostrophes. A letter after one is usually S, T, D, or LL follows in words like I'LL.
Solving the daily cryptogram keeps your DailyGrid streak alive — and quotations never repeat thanks to the shuffled-deck guarantee.
